Synopsis:
Kelsey can't stop thinking about Elliot, the sensitive and talented boy from her creative writing class. Despite her best friend Lexi's warnings about Elliot's girlfriend Madison, who has a reputation for tormenting anyone who crosses her, Kelsey finds herself drawn to Elliot as they collaborate on a poetry assignment.

Kelsey's crush intensifies when Elliot confides in her about his dissatisfaction with Madison, who belittles his interest in theater and pressures him to maintain a certain image. Kelsey encourages Elliot to follow his heart, but when he asks for her advice on whether to break up with Madison, Kelsey hesitates, not wanting to be responsible for their split. She convinces Elliot to give the relationship another chance.

Meanwhile, Kelsey's younger brother's girlfriend catches Kelsey and Lexi obsessing over Elliot in the bathroom, and word gets back to Kelsey's mom, adding to the complicated web of gossip and social politics.

Just as Kelsey resolves to back off from Elliot for the sake of self-preservation, Madison discovers their connection and reaches out to Kelsey directly. Kelsey, filled with dread over Madison's intentions, accepts her invitation to meet, fearing the consequences if she doesn't comply.

As Kelsey walks into the gym to face Madison alone, she braces herself for social annihilation, the sacrifice she must make for daring to get close to Madison's boyfriend. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Madison towers over Kelsey, poised to decide her fate in the ruthless hierarchy of high school.

Synopsis: Kelsey, a 16-year-old girl, is trying to figure out who she really is. With the help of her confident and edgy new friend Lexi, Kelsey takes a step towards transforming herself by getting a nose piercing.

Lexi encourages Kelsey to pursue her crush, a boy named Ryan who she's been texting online. Through their messages, Kelsey feels a strong connection to Ryan, despite having never met him in person.

Kelsey struggles with her overprotective mom who disapproves of her new nose piercing and budding friendship with Lexi. Meanwhile, Kelsey is surprised to discover her younger brother Tyler hanging out alone with his girlfriend.

Lexi helps give Kelsey the confidence to be more assertive. On Lexi's advice, Kelsey demands that Ryan meet her after school. However, when Kelsey and Ryan finally meet face-to-face, he is awkward and shy - nothing like his charming online persona. Disappointed, Kelsey watches Ryan abruptly leave and discovers he has blocked her on social media.

In Kelsey's English class, she is captivated by Elliot's romantic poem describing the perfect kiss. Kelsey realizes that while reality didn't match her filtered expectations with Ryan, her journey of self-discovery has led her to notice the quiet poet Elliot, who seems to be noticing her back. Kelsey is left wondering what the future may hold as she continues to explore who she really is.
