In the late 1980s in rural Kansas, a single mother Julie and her infant son shared their house with a benevolent Victorian-era ghost dubbed "the grey man." While her son often spoke of seeing the spirit, Julie's own encounter came one night when she nearly collided with a well-dressed gentleman in grey, complete with bowler hat and gold watch, who smiled and bowed before vanishing. Throughout the 1990s, the Bier family's Pennsylvania home experienced numerous unexplained phenomena. Multiple family members independently witnessed events including a toy cowboy flying through the air, self-moving dishes, and phantom voices calling "Mommy."
