A combination in chess is a sequence of forced moves, often involving a sacrifice, that leads to a tangible advantage. It typically exploits tactical motifs such as pins, forks, or discovered attacks to force the opponent into a losing position. Successful combinations require precise calculation and deep foresight to ensure all variations work in the player's favor.
Today, I put you to the test with 10 Levels of this 10 riveting tactic for all levels from 0 to 2800 Elo.
If you want to take this seriously for maximum improvement:
1️⃣ Place each puzzle on a physical chess board
2️⃣ Write down your full solution including secondary variations
3️⃣ Correct yourself with a score from 1-10 for each puzzle for a score out of 100 at the very end!

Judit Polgár is a Hungarian chess legend and widely regarded as the greatest female chess player of all time. Born on July 23, 1976, she achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, becoming the youngest Grandmaster at that time.
Polgár famously competed in open tournaments, consistently defeating top male players, including Garry Kasparov, Magnus Carlsen, and Viswanathan Anand. She broke barriers by becoming the first woman to break into the world’s top 10, achieving a peak FIDE rating of 2735 and a world ranking of 8 in 2005.
Unlike other female players, Polgár chose not to play in women-only events, focusing instead on competing against the world's best. She retired from professional chess in 2014 and now dedicates her time to chess education and promoting the game globally. Her trailblazing career has inspired generations of players worldwide.
