A Porsche was one of 200 vehicles worth £1.8m seized by police during a crackdown on professional car thieves.
West Midlands Police launched a region-wide campaign to combat car crime after seeing a 35 per cent rise in thefts.
Alarming figures shows there were 11,990 vehicle thefts in 2021 – rising to 16,232 in 2023.
The Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, agreed a five-figure sum to crackdown on criminal gangs behind the thefts.
Since May last year police have seized over 200 stolen vehicles from criminals worth £1.8million under Operation Vantor.
During one 16-day blitz, a total of 27 stolen vehicles worth a combined total of £527,250 were recovered.
Among the stolen cars seized included a Porsche 911 GT3 worth £140,000.
Cops also recovered a £169,000 black Bentley Bentayga SUV and a modified Land Rover Defender worth around £90,000.
Other luxury cars seized included a BMW M3 worth £80,000 and a VW Golf GTI worth £30,000.
Mr Foster said: “The rise in vehicle theft across the West Midlands is deeply concerning, and I’m committed to taking decisive action to protect our communities.
“This substantial investment provides West Midlands Police with the resources they need to disrupt these criminal networks, recover stolen vehicles, and bring offenders to justice.
“The recent seizures are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers, and I'm confident that this increased focus will make a real difference in tackling this issue.”
Superintendent Gareth Mason, Head of West Midlands Police’s Roads Policing Unit, added: “We are seeing positive results from this increased investment and are determined to continue our efforts to drive down vehicle crime.
“The recovery of these high-value vehicles demonstrates our commitment to pursuing offenders and disrupting their illicit activities.
“We encourage residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us.”

A woman says a Pilates class left her hospitalised - after she passed out four times.
Lola Fernandez, 24, felt "destroyed" after completing a 55 minute HIT Pilates class in January 2025.
She rushed to the toilet and was constantly throwing up and asked her fellow classmates to call 911.
Paramedics arrived and Lola passed out four times before they got her into the ambulance - due to dehydration.
Lola spent six hours in hospital - passing out a further two times - before she could head home.
Lola, a content creator and data analyst, from Los Angeles, California said: "Once I finished the class I was completely destroyed.
"I ran to the bathroom and started throwing up.
"I've never experienced such a violent thing with my body.
"It got to the point of dehydration that I started passing out.
"They told me I passed out four times before I got in the ambulance and twice at hospital.
"It wasn't Pilates fault - it was a combination of a lot of things.
"But they shouldn't advertise Pilates as classical and then it's HIT."
Lola said her stomach is sensitive to fatty foods and she had been unwell the night before the class after eating fried chicken.
She said: "I should probably not have gone to the gym but I I felt completely fine.
"I didn't eat anything - maybe a couple of bites of an apple.
"But I have done fasted workouts before."
Lola was expecting a classic Pilates class but says she got thrown into an intense HIT style class.
She said: "I did give it my all.
"It was towards the end of the class I started noticing I was really exhausted.
"My heart was pounding.
"I was taking some breaks. At the end I lay down completely - my head was spinning."
After becoming unwell she was taken in an ambulance to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Burbank, California.
Lola was given fluids and doctors had to keep her in for six hours to make sure her white blood cell count decreased.
She said: "The white blood cells were double what they normally should be.
"I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy."
Lola is now full recovered but is wary of wrongly advertised classes and making sure she eats and stays hydrated before exercising.
She said: "Before you go and move your body drink water and eat - even if it's a piece of fruit.
"People should really look into the classes they are taking.
"Stick to what works for you."

A hero shopkeeper used his loaf when a robber demanded cash to feed his family - by giving him bread, butter and milk instead.
Hero shopkeeper Rakesh Kumar, 47, refused to hand over his takings to the balaclava wearing thief who threatened him with a knife.
The thug barged into Eversley Stores in Malvern, Worcs., just after 4pm last Wednesday (5/2) wielding a 12in blade.
He then placed the knife on the counter before demanding £100 in cash saying he needed money to feed his children.
The quick-thinking shopkeeper refused to open the till but instead offered to give the hungry crook some food.
He handed the crook a loaf of £3 Warburtons seeded bread, a £3.59 pack of Lurpak butter and four pints of milk worth £2.30.
Incredibly, the stunned thief grabbed the grub - which was worth a total of £8.89 - and fled the scene.
Mr Kumar, who has two children, said: "He came into the store and the knife was hidden in his trousers.
“It was a commercial kitchen knife and I think it was about 12 inches long.
"He put the knife down on the desk and asked me for £100, to which I told him that we do not keep that in the till.
"He kept on asking me for money from the till and that it was to feed his
children, and I kept telling him that there was no money in there.
"I tried to calm him down and he put the knife back.
"I told him to take some bread, milk and butter if he needs to, but he has to promise me that he will not go anywhere else afterwards.
“I said he needed food not money, I said I would provide him the food. He kept asking about the money.
“I told him to take bread and butter, I said 'I don't want your children to go hungry'.
"Once he left, I was not going to report him, but speaking to people made me realise I should report it because he was carrying a weapon."
Mr Kumar reported the robbery to police who later arrested a 22-year-old man.
Mr Kumar added: "This is not normal. I have been in Malvern a long time and this is not normal for the town.
"We do not have any problem with shoplifting here. Five or six kids can come into the shop and I do not have to keep an eye on them.
"The only thing that is scaring me is that this is now happening in Malvern."
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We received a report around 4:10pm of a man with a knife entering Eversley Stores on Worcester Road and demanding money from the till.
"When it was established that no money was on the premises, the man left the store with grocery items.
"Officers attended and located the man who was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
"The 22-year-old has been released on bail."

Locals living by a picturesque marina are fuming after housing bosses ripped out plant-lined walls and replaced them with "prison-style" fencing - to stop people passing over their shopping.
Residents of flats in Albion Mill, Worcester were previously asked to pay £10,000 for a new privacy fence following just two complaints about boat owners 'trespassing'.
Narrowboat dwellers at Diglis Marina had been leaving shopping at metal railings to be handed over by kind-hearted residents at the apartments in order to avoid a 20 minute walk.
But apartment bosses said that boat owners were trespassing when using the car park for a detour and asked residents to cough up thousands for a new fence to keep them out.
Now, two metre high railings have been erected along the pontoon leaving the quaint marina 'like a building site' after the previous walls and fencing was torn down.
Locals say FirstPort, which manage the apartments, ripped up the plants and decorations which lined the waters edge without any proper consultation leaving behind an 'eyesore'.
Diglis Marina resident Tony Wass, 67, says he spent over £1,000 decorating his side of the fence - but was shocked to hear contractors had removed it all while he was on holiday.
He said: "It was put up after we went away for six months to Australia over Christmas.
“FirstPort now say they own the wall. At some point they ripped the fence out and put this very badly fence up.
"Albion Mill and our residence is not only ugly beyond belief but is also actually now compromising our security
“It’s not safe as it’s held together with two cable ties. You can cut them in two seconds and get in without issues.
“Now we wait I suppose and see what happens next. We have every intention of putting everything back. There hasn’t been any compromise from them.
"We’ve got everyone telling me how awful the fence looks. It looked nice before.
“It’s tarnished our whole view here. We have lovely friends in the community, but it just leaves a bitter taste in your mouth."
Tony spends just under £9,000 a year to moor his longboat on Diglis Docks but says he's now thinking about leaving.
He says the trouble started last year when one angry resident spotted them transporting shopping over the old, lower fence, despite having the permission of a resident.
Tony added: “We get charged by Aquavista £6,000, on top of that we have to pay the Canal and River Trust over £1,200 for our license.
"Then there’s a risk of council tax which would add another £1,500 if we had to pay it, taking it onto £9,000.
“Once we started handing things over our part of the fence, that’s when the situation started."
Professional sound engineer Tony, who lives on the boat with his husband Stuart, says they are now facing a mile walk with their weekly shop.
He added: “We have to walk our shopping from the car now which is at least 1km away, and I’m 68 next month.
"We could pull up by the side of the road illegally near the apartments but we don’t want to risk parking tickets.
“There’s two ways to go, one is the circular path but that’s around mile. The only other option is to go over the top lock gate but it is dangerous.
"You could fall, slip, there’s also huge cast iron hinges that I've tripped over numerous times in the dock.
"You’d have to walk a mile with your shopping from the car. It’s nonsense.
"We’ll have to try and get the shopping over by other means, we’ll try and use a pole or something. The whole situation is ridiculous."
One resident of the apartments, who did not want to be named, said: "It's been a lot of fuss over nothing really, all to stop people passing over some shopping bags.
"The fences there all looked really pretty and everybody looked out for each other - now we have this horrible fence that make it look like a prison.
"They have already been up for a couple of months and who knows for how much longer. They are shoddily put up and a security issue too.
"People are feeling a little bit more vulnerable and exposed and all over a couple of complaints about something so trivial.
"Because two people didn't like others being neighbourly, we've had our apartment complex turned into a building site. It's barmy."
Firstport has been approached for comment.
