With a Super Bowl beatdown over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles redefined what championship pedigree looks like. Well, kind of. When star receiver AJ Brown got caught reading a book on the sideline of Philly’s Wild Card Round matchup against Green Bay, many people thought he was checked out. Now as a champion, none of that matters! Winning cures all and maybe Brown will inspire a movement of scholars! But that got the crew thinking — how sacred is the sideline? Can you read? Eat?? Clip your nails?!? We were pretty mixed on the results.

Baker Mayfield and Kliff Kingsbury’s feud lowkey occurred by happenstance. A walk-on true freshman paired with a first-year head coach sounds like a recipe for disaster but Mayfield and Kingsbury shocked the nation as Texas Tech shot up the rankings early in the 2013 season. But when an injury sidelined Baker and the losses started to pour in, their relationship soured into a drama-fueled spectacle filled with an ugly transfer, some not-very-nice words from a spurned fan base, and a lot of beef.

As for today, I hate the NFL rulebook. To be fair, I think it hates itself as well. It takes winding roads in ways that would surprise no one, but it's also why clear answers are rare to come by for why something was called the way it was. When Josh Allen was credited with a receiving touchdown, I needed to know why.
Spoiler, it can get boiled down to, "well, it just does," according to the rules. That said, when Josh Allen made us all take note of receiving touchdowns in the Buffalo Bills 2024 game against the San Francisco 49ers, it created a moment that's worth diving into and what I realized is we (universally) discussed it all wrong. It’s January 8th, 2011. Were in Seattle, Washington for an NFC Wild Card Playoff showdown between the oddly visiting New Orleans Saints and the helpless hometown Seahawks. Seattle is tryna extend their 4-point lead late in the final quarter but I highly doubt it’ll happen on this run. Saints defenders have Marshawn Lynch dead to rights. He’s cooked! But before we move on, it’s important to understand these two teams' makeup. Why were here in Seattle. And how a new addition to the Seahawks could have a quaking effect on the franchise. To do all that, we need to rewind.
