Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we have a very unique situation. A northbound semi truck with a loaded trailer goes through the median, THROUGH the high-tension cable barrier system, across the southbound lanes of the interstate, and jack-knifes on the opposite side of a very muddy on ramp, all without any injuries!!! And, there is a mysterious tire and wheel tangled in the mess that don't seem to belong to this truck. We call in most of the crew for this one. I bring out our flagship Rotator #11, the Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries, Century 1150R heavy rotator towing and recovery unit. Talon brings our new Western Star #18, the 9055XL. Ethan brings the older Western Star #8 with a Vulcan V70. And, Oscar brings out #17 our Peterbilt 579. We get to use our Hurst Strong Arm to cut the high-tension barrier cables for the first time. Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, PART 2...THE SNOW PLOW RECOVERY!!! We get hit with our first significant winter storm in a while. Ethan and Oscar take both our Western Stars, the 9055XL and the V70 to attempt to recover a loaded plow truck that slid through an intersection and took a nosedive into a creek. However, they have a little bit of trouble getting to the crash site. First, both Western Stars get stuck and slide into a ditch on an icy hill. Then I'm called to come help them. I get there with our Peterbilt rollback and our Takuechi skid steer, only to find we are also going to need the Rotator for this job!! So, I call Talon to bring in our flagship Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries Century 1150R heavy rotator towing and recovery unit. Make "SNOW" bones about it...this is a slick job. We were told the snow plow was teetering on its belly-plow, but, as I find out, it doesn't have one. It's sitting on the fuel tank and nose dived into a creek. This could be an environmental disaster!!! Can the Midwest team pull off the highly complex and dangerous job in horrible conditions??? Watch and see! ENJOY!!!

You catch a glimpse of the job we are called to do, which will be next week's video. After all the trouble we had just getting there, I thought this might make for an enjoyable video as well. We all know how accident prone I am with my "Pratt-falls", anyway. ENJOY!!!

Christmas Eve, late evening call out for a car off the interstate, down a steep embankment, and stradling a ditch. I have the Peterbilt 337 rollback Miller LCG12 at home with me, so I take it to check out the situation, only to find out that I didn't bring enough truck with me for this job. So, I call Oscar to bring out the Rotator, our Century 1150R, to help me do a little "Fishing in the dark", again, on Christmas Eve. Oh well, that's just part of the job. ENJOY!!!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we are called to another "fishing" expedition...LOL. Thankfully, nobody was injured. The driver swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle with a driver who may not have been paying attention.... we don't know. When we arrive, a Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant gives us our task and leaves us to "get 'er done." This would have been a lot easier had I brought my waders, but the wife and I were going out for an evening "date" night when the call came in. So, I grabbed the Peterbilt 337 with a Miller Industries 4024 towing & recovery unit, while Terry grabs the Peterbilt rollback. We have a little fun "swinging" to and from the truck in attempt to avoid getting in the water. "Mom Pratt" helps with some extra video footage!!! All in all, this was a great result for both the customer and us...nobody was injured. We all know how accident prone I am with my "Pratt-falls". ENJOY!!!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, I get the opportunity to take out our new unit #18, the 2024 Western Star Miller Industries, Century 9055XL heavy towing and recovery unit, to test its recovery capabilities. I didn't realize how much of a test it would be until I rolled up and saw the Dump truck down a 40 degree grade and leaning 20 degrees towards a new house foundation!!! I could barely see the top of the drive tires on the driver's side. It had spun down DEEP!!! Not only had it spun down, but the engine ran while it was at such a steep angle and lost oil from the suction tube, which locked up the engine. So, the engine wouldn't run to be able to steer, release the brakes, or help inch its way out. It was nothing but "dead weight". All while trying to navigate around the foundation, a pile of trusses, a new water line & meter, and many other obstacles. This one was much more challenging than I had anticipated, but, my job is to figure out how to solve problems. So, let's get this one solved!!

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, what we thought should be a simple job, turns out to be anything but simple. A dump truck loaded with hot asphalt slid off the soft shoulder edge of a gravel road that was getting paved. One lane was freshly paved, still hot, and being rolled. I have to back our Peterbilt 389X Miller Industries, Century 1150R rotator, down one end of the county road on a narrow single lane with the same soft shoulder the dump truck had slid off of. Ethan has to back in #18, our new Western Star 9055XL, from the opposite side of the county road. Neither of us are allowed to get on the fresh asphalt pavement!!! The only thing keeping the dump truck from rolling over is the embankment it is leaning against. All of this is also on a fairly steep grade which doesn't show up well on camera, but we have a lot of things fighting against us on this job. One of the biggest obstacles is not damaging this beautiful truck!!! Believe it or not, even though it's bottomed out and in a REALLY bad spot, it doesn't appear to have much damage. Limited space, gravity, soft ground conditions, heavy load with a heavy lean. This is going to be difficult!!! Is the Midwest team up for the challenge???
