There were a few things I couldn't (or didn't get around to) covering in this video, including the nanobot system and the terraforming of the planet itself. I hope I'll get time this week to stream it, though I do prefer recording this game offline as it's very chill and relaxed (until it suddenly isn't). I did just get a 4k webcam I've been screwing around with and we spent all day today building a carrier in Space Engineers, so the odds of another stream are high.

I wasn't kidding when I said 'this is what I imagined'. Clear Sky was always my favourite of the 3 due to the focus on faction warfare even though I know that's a dark horse pick, because I loved rolling with my squad of friendlies to go do missions. And now it actually exists, this mod isn't just a fantasy concept anymore. Finally getting to have other players storming a warehouse with me is so much fun, and the gunfights felt amazing. Crazy how the gunfights in this felt more satisfying than any gunfight I had in STALKER 2.

This game was loads of fun, it plays like a very casual and laid back VTOL VR for me. I played using HOTAS for the most part but keyboard controls were good too. It's important to note that we played this a while ago, and the new updates really improve the UI and even added a super cool dropship that can airlift vehicles and all that.

One day we'll bring those automatons down, but every time we play its an absolute blast. This is an amazingly perfect 4 player card game, because each character feels complex enough that you're not bored playing as them even when it isn't your turn. Also allows for constant banter.

I know this game seems like something I'd adore especially since I've made the previous videos on Radio Commander, but it was always best when you didn't see beyond the veil - when you thought you had actual options and tactical choices, before realising that most things were pre-scripted. Radio General feels like someone took the concept and nailed the execution, while Radio Commander feels like an amazing concept with poor execution. As for this new title? Well, the change in dev team isn't inspiring so far, especially given this is their first commerical video game, and the mission design being 90 americans and 10 tanks versus hundreds of Japanese defenders and equal tanks (the US invaded Tarawa with 35k soldiers and 18k marines against a garrison of just 2.6k Japanese soldiers) along with the punishing supply restrictions, inability to resupply and general lack of any tactics beside "blob with my entire force to maximise damage and therefore minimize return damage" made this demo feel like a big miss.

Thanks to Slitherine for giving me early access to ICBM: Escalation. I had a blast with it, I knew there were some mods for the original ICBM that added army units in a simple capacity, but this sequel has done great by expanding on it along with the other sneaky tricks added like Spec Ops and disguised weapons.

I'm looking into doing a multiplayer game of this with a whole group, maybe with a touch of international relations roleplay, so let me know if that's something you'd enjoy.
