This is the Apple Watch Series 10, what Apple calls as Thintastic Classic, and what I'm gonna call the best evolution this product has seen in years, even if it's not easily noticeable. For context, yes, this is 10 years of Apple Watch, and sure, we heard the changes were major. Some called for flat rails since like 3 generations ago, and that the bands would attach differently to save space. Heck we even heard of micro LED screens being considered, but nope. None of that happened, and yet, I'm glad it didn't. I know, I sound like if I'm trying to defend iteration, but that would be a huge over-simplification of what the approach was with this watch. See, even if looks might remain similar, this watch actually seems to say that you no longer need to buy an Ultra to get a ton of the best features.

Yes, we have seen Apple announce things in December, but that's usually not the norm. At this point we're out of possible devices left to expect, so it's time to focus on 2025. This year has been pretty interesting for Apple. We've seen the company drift hard at the idea of Apple Intelligence, and I say that because a lot of things won't be final until next year. What's interesting, though is that the rumors for next year include an all new device, and some very-much-needed updates to a couple of others.
I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let's do a final deep dive on what to expect from Apple in 2025, in everything else that's not necessarily predictable.

This is the weirdest Apple product launch, ever, and you know what, I'm all for it. It wasn't one but actually 3 events, and since the company kept teasing that there was more to come this week, it was worth it to just wait it out and make a single recap over what's new, and why you should care.
I'm all for this approach because otherwise, this would've been a very long keynote where the benefits of each product would've had to be condensed. At a time when hardware iteration is a thing and software or compute power updates are the new selling point, yeah.. More detail is appreciated. Apple did confirm this was the final day today, so I guess updates to the Mac Pro and Mac Studio will just have to wait.
I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and it's time for another deep dive, this time, on Apple's new Mac updates, across the board.

I know, it's late October, and things are already pretty interesting. I know this week the main story has been Apple's launch of its M4s Macs, which no worries, we are gonna cover, but that'll be as soon as they all get announced, cause it seems to be this odd staggered launch. First we saw new iMacs, then it was the Mac mini, and we hear there's more to come.
Thing is notice the timing. It happened a week after Qualcomm announced its new Snapdragon 8 Elite, which yeah, gave us a lot to talk about. We covered the new chip last week in detail so make sure you watch that video. Obviously that announcement has already snowballed what most companies are doing with the chip, but Samsung is Qualcomm's major player, so much so that we've spent the last few years receiving a "for Galaxy" version of it. Right now if you wanna get the highest spec Snapdragon X Elite laptop, it's also a Galaxy Book, so of course we wanna know the details on how this launch is gonna work for Samsung, and especially when we could see some Exynos blended in, along with a third player we're also about to look into.
Yeah, exactly. There's a lot of ground to cover. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let's do a follow-up deep dive on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, now that we know a lot more from the Snapdragon Summit.

It's about that time when the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit is already over, and along with it, we know a lot of things just snowball. Then it becomes this competition of which phones will be first with the new chip, and for the longest time, OnePlus is one of those major players. The OnePlus 12 proved to be, hands down one of the best smartphones of 2024, and all without breaking the bank. Then we had the OnePlus 12R which proved year-old specs should be priced for a broader demographic. It's really left a ton of us curious as to what to expect for 2025, and well it's about that time.
I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and it's time for another Deep Dive, this time on the OnePlus 13.

See, I've been coming to Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit since 2017. Each year we got to see the company's latest chips, but when it came to mobile, everything was mostly incremental. New architectures, standard ARM cores in some unique design that pushed power and efficiency, but nothing really bold or crazy.. All while Apple was just owning chip innovation with its custom Apple Silicone cores. Seriously, for the last couple of years, Apple had been at least 2 to 3 generations ahead, and not stopping.
I'd say it wasn't until Qualcomm announced its Oryon CPU with its Snapdragon X Elite that things didn't just change, but the company was able to leap-frog the market with custom cores that were more powerful than anything else out there, But then again, for computers. We urgently needed this same approach for smartphones, and let's just say this is what this event has been all about.
I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and let's do a deep dive over the Top 5 reasons you should care about the new Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Thanks to Snapdragon for inviting me to be their guest at Snapdragon Summit. All experiences were hosted but no additional compensation was received. #PaidTravel

Just when you thought Google was done with being aggressive about its hardware, well think again. We didn't just get a very early launch of the Pixel 9 series, but we also got a foldable, a watch, buds, you name it. Thing is, given how the company launched all these new devices extremely early, its obviously left us wondering how it would handle its most popular series. Yes, since its inception, the affordable Pixel has always been the most popular, and it seems the design and feature changes might make it even more compelling.
I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and yeah, it's time for another deep dive, this time with Google's Pixel 9a.

This is the pixel watch 3 and not sure if you've noticed but this is actually the first Google Smartwatch that I review. Yes, I did have the first two generations and I will admit that I did my best to try to use them, but a few things just didn't work out. The first watch in particular was a gigantic leap, not just for Google, but genuinely for wear OS. This whole idea of actually creating a smartwatch around the Fitbit was just genius. That watch alone set the standard that all others are following when it comes to specs and performance, but the compromises in taste were the problem for many. It only came in one size, which didn't include me, and the battery life was just atrocious.
The Pixel Watch 2 was built on that same platform and a ton of improvements, but dragged some problems with it and introduced new ones. The materials got cheaper, which I have no problem with when it came to the aluminum, but the display was my deal breaker. A Fitbit that favors runners, but then struggles with Polarized sunglasses should simply not exist.
It wasn't until this third generation and the introduction of a second size option that I was really compelled fully commit, so much so that I haven't taken it off ever since, which yes, means it even replaced my Galaxy Watch Ultra. It really didn't take much for me to notice this was overall a far better experience than I was expecting, though yeah, it's still not perfect. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let me explain to you why in our full review.
