The new Powerbeats Pro 2 are great earbuds — they're the best in terms of world in terms of fit (it's not even close) and the technology inside them can't be beat. I mean, they took the heart rate sensor in the Apple Watch and made it 10 times smaller. They tried hundreds of different case designs before deciding on the perfect one. They invented an ear hook that's soft and comfortable, but stays in your ear, even when you're moving! They're a feat of engineering.
So why is this video almost 36 minutes long? Why did I start yelling and throwing my hands in the air halfway through? I went down the rabbit hole in this one, and instead of cutting everything out, I decided to leave it in so you can meet the real me. I'm not always cool.
When it comes down to it, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are my workout headphones of choice, and if you buy them, you won't be disappointed. But as an audio engineer and musician, there are certain things Apple is doing with all of their headphones — and with the Apple Music ecosystem — well, somebody has to put their foot down and figure out what in tarnation is going on!
