About a year ago I saw a 70's style retro swivel chair (made from plastic) for sale on Facebook marketplace. I really liked the shape and thought it would be an interesting project to make from wood. I planned on finishing the whole project in one video but it was taking too long and the video was getting long too. Part 2 shouldn't be too far away. :)

Here's the methods I used to hammer form, etch and then solder brass into parts for a ships wheel. With imagination these techniques could be used to make just about any item you can think of. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole ships wheel project and super happy with the outcome. It looks awesome on the wall.

I've been looking for a project to try this pattern out and this was perfect. I really enjoyed the whole process from the challenge of using salvaged wood to the patterned top. Making patterns is certainly extra work but it's not difficult and this one is actually pretty basic using just one shaped tile.
