Things to know Driving🚗 a car in Japan as tourists!

One thing we love the most from our recent Japan trip was road trip around Kyushu! If you haven’t consider travelling to regional Japan, it’s a sign to get a car and road tripping around Japan🇯🇵

Here’s 5 essential things you need to know about driving in Japan from tourists pov:

1. International Driving Permit - apply this before travelling to Japan and of course don’t forget to bring it! No IDP, no rental car

2. Book the car in advance - we use Nippon rent-a-car company, they’re pretty much everywhere

3. In Japan you drive on the left side of the road so if you’re from say Australia, you won’t need much adjustment, so easy!

4. Opt for ETC card with the rental company for highway tolls payment

5. Lots of parking spots outside big cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and rate will range like ¥200-300 per hour. Bigger city might charge ¥500 per hour

Great budget hotel in Fukuoka that we stayed is The Lively Fukuoka Hakata Hotel located in Nakasu. Close to train station, the ichiran ramen HQ, 24hrs Don Quijote, Canal City Hakata and Hakata station so the location is really convenient!

This was my first time ever getting laser treatment to get rid of freckles and pigmentation. Thanks to Lamiche Dermatology in Gangnam Seoul for the invite.

Not going to lie, some of the treatments were painful but bearable for me. Tips: do the treatment 1 or 2 days before going home or towards the end of your Korea trip because as you can see, the dark spots will get darker first before peeling off.
