When writing the book, I spent a lot of time thinking about how poetry could be brought to life online. How I could open it up to people who might not consider themselves poetry fans, as I hadn’t read much poetry myself prior to writing it.
I was inspired by 1940s visual poets Soffici and Apollinaire. They subverted form wildly and brought words to life for people in new, playful ways which made me to see that poetry can be like pop music. It’s for everyone.
