Only a few weeks after Starship Flight 7, here we are preparing the Flight 8 Starship for static fire. Yes my friends, here we go! Starship is Ready to Light It Up! We also talk about the new PEZ loading box that we believe will be used to add the dummy payload for Flight 8. It has been an intriguing week in general actually so there is a lot to cover today. Falcon 9 action with WorldView Legion 5 & 6, Two Starlinks missions, Blue Origin NS-29 with a twist this week (well, a lunar gravity rotation), and some pretty incredible news around Asteroid Bennu Samples. Well my friends we have got so much to dive into today around all things space. Starship’s Next Move Is Coming Sooner Than You Think. Not only are we already seeing FCC hints for Flight 8 by Feb 24th, we are also seeing rapid Pad B work with Chopsticks Installed, and associated work screaming along. I tend to start off the week thinking it may be a little bit slower, but of course, as I try to wrap things up there is so much more breaking to dive into. Indeed, it has been a gigantic week, and I’ve got it all packaged up nicely for you so as you settle into the weekend. Lets not forget Boom just flew the XB-1 First Supersonic Flight, the huge work being done by Vast / Haven-Demo / Haven-1, Spacewalk 92 with Butch and Suni, Intuitive Mission IM-2 & Firefly Blue Ghost updates, and Falcon 9 action with SpainSat NG I Mission, and Starlink Group 12-7.

So many great new insights, and it is stacked and fully tested before flight. New Glenn NG-1 is set to launch Sunday morning, Falcon 9 to launch 2 moon landers on one flight with Firefly Blue Ghost and iSpace Hakuto-R Mission 2, diving into the Parker Solar Probe and the Mars Sample Return Mission Update too! For the first time ever in these fully integrated flight tests we have payload mass simulators here on board. 10 Starlink payload simulators to be specific. Crucially though, this demonstration will actually include the deployment of these dummy satellites, which will then follow Starship down on a sub-orbital trajectory into the Indian Ocean. I’m sure we will have cameras all over that deployment, so this is going to be epic to watch! SpaceX have also confirmed the ship features non-structural catch test hardware for validating the ship catch mount survivability during reentry. It will be interesting to see how these hold up. Alongside these catch points, there will be a smoother, tapered edge of the heat shield tile line.
We are also to see the first ever reflight of a Raptor engine. Yes, one of the engines on the caught Booster 12 with serial number 314 was removed and installed onto Flight 7’s Booster 14. With any luck they can catch this booster too. Especially with all the upgrades on the tower to address its damaged sensor issues from the aborted catch with flight 6. This is all going to be so exciting.

Well, we’ve got it all this week my friends. We have Starship Flight Test 7 Info Revealed because Approval Came Early from the FAA!? Indeed, Flight 7 has been given the thumbs up by the FAA after some absolutely beautiful tests with the first Block 2 Starship. Along with all that though, so much is going on around the sites in general. Indeed this is a densely packed week of successes and even the opposite as we begin to close out the last few weeks of 2024! Specifically we have the KAIROS Japan's Space One failed attempt to orbit, Cargo Dragon Departing from the ISS, NROL-149, GPS III-7, O3b mPOWER 7 & 8 and a Falcon 9 abort to top it all off!
