Hello, friends! Welcome to Mad Science, and today we are going to uncover one of nature's most unexpected mysteries – what could be hiding inside a fig, and why you might want to think twice before eating one straight from the tree. Sounds mysterious? Oh, trust me, you’re in for something truly fascinating!
I know my lab coat might seem a bit over the top, but if you're still watching, then it worked! Plus, today's topic is all about biology, and we're diving a bit deeper into it than usual. But first, I want to thank all of you for your patience. The channel has gone through quite a few changes and experiments with its theme, but there are exciting updates on the way. From now on, there won’t be any scenes of animals being fed to other predators, but the animal and insect world will still be a big part of our content, of course, in full compliance with YouTube's community guidelines.
Now, let’s get to the topic of the day – what happens to figs on the tree and why this fruit may be hiding some unexpected "guests"? If you’re used to the idea that store-bought fruits are clean and safe, you’re right. Commercial figs are indeed different because they are pollinated artificially, without the involvement of insects. This protects the fruit from unwanted visitors. But a fig that you pick from a wild tree might surprise you with some worms.

Hi! About two weeks ago, we embarked on an interesting project to create a mini-village for cockroaches. It turned out to be a truly fascinating process, in which many details were cut from sheets of hypoallergenic plastic and then glued together to assemble several different mini-houses. Then these houses were refined, painted, and visually each house turned out to be unique. The process was so captivating that after the houses, I created a huge bridge, which, according to the project's idea, leads to the second shore. On the first shore is the village, and on the second shore was an empty plot of land, where it was decided to make a mini-garden with various exotic and unusual plants.

Hello! Thanks to your interest, we will continue the series where we feed insects something tasty! So today, for 10,000 mealworms, I've prepared sushi! While you enjoy this sushi set, I can also smell the pleasant aroma and, to be honest, really want to try them! I just picked up this sushi set from the restaurant, so they are as fresh as possible!
But how to choose which types of sushi to give to the mealworms? In one of the previous videos, I gave the mealworms salmon steak and red caviar. From the observations made in that video, I concluded that mealworms do not like red fish and red caviar. So the choice becomes easier! This set includes 5 types of Philadelphia: Philadelphia with salmon, Philadelphia with smoked salmon, Philadelphia with eel, Philadelphia with tiger shrimp, and Philadelphia with tuna. Salmon and smoked salmon are immediately excluded because the insects are repelled by the aroma of smoked dishes.

Hello! It's been a while since we had a segment about our powerful microscope! Today, I went to a large lake on the outskirts of the city. I wonder if the micro-world of this lake differs from the lakes within the city itself. Even various types of wild ducks swim in this lake, but unfortunately, the shoreline is dirty, with trash floating in some areas. I purposely stirred the water to take two samples: one from the lake bed and the other from the surface.
Even without the help of a microscope, microorganisms were noticeable in the sample from the lake bed.

Hi! Today you will learn more about the axolotl story! It's been almost 2 months since I got an axolotl! At that time, it was bought with its front paws bitten off, but you may already know that axolotls are capable of regeneration and their paws grow back very quickly!
Scientists from many countries are closely studying animals capable of regeneration. The highest interest is represented by higher organisms. The real master in growing limbs and organs is the adorable creature, the Mexican axolotl!
When the axolotl came to us, the wounds on its paws were already completely healed, and even the outlines of new fingers began to appear, but it is still very noticeable that the new legs are much smaller than the hind ones.
Hello! A large aquarium won't suit us today; we'll need to downsize it by about 50 times! In this small aquarium, my hand only fits halfway! Why do we need such a small aquarium - you'll soon find out! Let me try to give you a hint: What do you see in front of you? A dandelion in a glass? But if you look closely, you'll also see one little creature. Finally, we have a very interesting character worth your attention! It's the jumping spider!
