Iāve always wanted to see what my model railroad would look like from the perspective of a tiny HO scale person walking aroundā¦ And now I can š
In this tutorial I use a number of specialized tools to get the final result, however as long as you have some wheels and some materials you could make a basic version of this by hand if desired, you could even just adapt the camera to an existing piece of rolling stock on your layout and get some really cool shots!
If youāre interested in building this exact model youāll find the files for the camera mount for free on my website here:
If you want to build the flatbed cars as well they are available for purchase through my store here:
Or if youāre a $7 Patreon, you can get access to the store as part of the Patreon membership so youāll not only be able to download these cars but also a selection of the other items in the store as well.
Dust is a never ending battle for a model railroader, but not anymore! Iāll step you through the numerous techniques Iāve implemented on my model railroad to show you just how Iām stopping dust from ruining the fun I plan to have running this layout.
If you want to laser cut the dust filter unit you will find the project files here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/4sm4iH7blc7
You can even modify the dimension so if you have a smaller fan or filter you have the ability to change the shape and design of the model.
This is a HO scale model railroad but this videos is not scale specific, these step will work for just about any setup, even if you a military modeller and want to make a dust free display cabinet, just one of these fans on top will give you that opportunity, and your friends will be asking, how do you keep your models looking so good š
The series continues as the model railroad starts to come to life, adding the lights to this HO scale model railroad has made a huge difference! However, itās really the fascia and curtains that direct your attention to the scenic areas of the layout.
A model railroad really stands out when some thought is put into the presentation of the layout as a whole. We spend so much time building, detailing and constructing the railroad, we should put just a little extra effort into its presentation so people will view the entire model railroad as an art piece.
So I continue this build by demonstrating and talking through the process of adding the fascia, curtains, lights and also the foam baseboard that will for the initial base for the HO scale layout.
