Hello. We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn, a couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity. We believe Curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It’s what pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions and helps us embrace the great unknown. The future is a sea of uncertainty and each of us has a choice: to focus on problems or possibilities. Our goal is to cultivate a sense of curiosity about what is possible. Over the years our journey has taken some unexpected turns, but this is the longest we've ever been firmly planted at a marina. And while "stuck" isn't our best look, we're working on embracing our circumstances – even if it isn't where we planned to be. Because when you can't change the wind, you adjust your sails.
----------------------------------------
WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of explorers, modern-day documentarians, and cultivators of curiosity.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Things We're Most Curious About...
GETTING OFF-GRID
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. So self-reliance and sustainable living are a must. We've learned heaps about renewable energy, managing waste, creating safe drinking water and foraging for food. We carefully manage our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
TALKING TO STRANGERS
People are busy (even on remote islands) and travelers are a dime a dozen. It takes time to talk to strangers, and even more time to have a real connection. Going the extra mile to get to know someone is a commitment.
Which is why these are our most treasured experiences. Setting off into the world with curiosity as our guide and nature as our compass. We talk to strangers and accept hospitality without fear or reservations. Both giving and receiving.
ALTERNATIVE LIVING
These are people who are doing things differently. Forgoing the mainstream, seeking freedom and living on the margins. Creative, unique and inspiring people who challenge our ideas of home and community.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

We have made our way back to the Philippines and back to the boat. Join us as we share a glimpse into our unexpected extended stay on Samal Island - from colorful local markets and mouthwatering Filipino cuisine to finding joy in everyday tasks. Because in the end, it's not about where we're going, or how we get there, but how we choose to live each day.

It all started years ago—before the boats, the RVs, and full-time travel—when Jason’s childhood bedroom doubled as his mom’s office and I took a leap that changed my life forever. And now, in a full-circle moment, we’re taking on a brand-new adventure together.
It's still a work in progress but we're excited about it! Plus, we feel by putting this out into the world, especially to all of you, it's no longer just an idea. It's real, it's happening and we're very curious to hear what you think.

Electric motors have come a looong way and we couldn’t be more excited about what 2025 has in store! From tiny but mighty to full-planing-power, there are finally some good electric outboard options that give gas engines real competition.
During our recent trip to METSTRADE in Amsterdam (think CES, but for boats), we had the chance to explore the latest and greatest in electric outboards.
Each motor seemed to have at least one standout feature from the competition, but they all share a common goal: making electric boating more accessible and efficient than ever.

Sailing has been slowly becoming more tech forward each year...but I think 2025 is going to be a big leap forward. Because every piece of gear seems to be getting design upgrades, sensors and apps.
We made our way to the biggest show in technology when it comes to all things maritime, the Metstrade in Amsterdam. It's like the CES of the boating world and it did not disappoint! And despite our best efforts, we didn't get to explore everything we wanted to. But, that's only because there was sooo much to dive into.
There are new innovations in just about every single area you can think of. We found new discoveries in lightning protection, anchor monitoring, anchoring, rigging, and even sensors that can tell you when it might be time to replace your rigging.🤯

If you told us a few months ago that we would be drinking beer, in a country where it is considered a world cultural heritage, we would have laughed (probably mid-sip of a Philippine ale). But here we are, on a canal trip through Belgium. And I can confidently say this country has elevated beer to an art form. And possibly a religion.
Now, before I go losing all my non beer drinkers, who are no doubt rolling their eyes, let me tell you: It’s not just beer. At least not here. It’s about the traditions, the people, and the passion. These brewers aren’t just making beer, it’s a way of life and an actual UNESCO-recognized heritage.
That’s right, for Belgian’s, beer is so engrained in their culture it’s protected like the Taj Mahal. And we are sipping our way through it. Because every barrel tells a story, and every brew is a tribute to craftsmanship passed down through generations. So give the video a watch and by the end, we hope you’ll better understand what we’re waxing on about.

Boating into Bruges, Belgium is everything people said it would be—bridges, towers, cobblestones, and charm that oozes around every corner. It’s touristy, sure, but deservedly so. It feels like stepping into a living museum that smells faintly of sugar, salt and malt. The buildings are painted with history, and the canals weave it all together. Sure, this isn't exactly the same Bruges traders and explores once hauled their spices and wool to 900 years ago. But according to UNESCO, it's as medieval as we're going to get in the 21st century.

We're not cruising the vast open ocean but we are navigating the floating existence that is canal boat life. In Belgium no less (home of the best beer in the world)! Because canals in Europe are the waters between worlds. They are a reminder of the interconnectedness of people, places, and even time itself. Which is why I think we are so drawn to them. European canals connect inland villages to the sea and flow from one country into another, like veins in the earth.
Traders and travelers have used these waterways for over 900 years and now, so will we. We're moving aboard a 37-foot purpose built vessel for novices like us wanting to cruise the canals. Aka, enough bumpers and fenders to take on the stone walls of any lock or bridge.
Join us for a full tour of our new home on the water, a few humbling bridge encounters and our first impressions of boat life in Belgium.
