It was a momentous day for 500 junior soldiers as they graduated from the Army Foundation College in Harrogate.
The parade marked the successful completion of a six or twelve month training course.
The young serving personnel will soon move on to their respective units.

A Royal Air Force veteran has had a tattoo to commemorate her participation in the 2025 Invictus Games, which are being held in Vancouver in Canada.
Thirty-six-year-old Elizabeth Lee sat for the tattoo which was inked into her left arm in front of onlookers and cameras at the Games.
The Invictus Games has its own competitors-only tattoo parlour, providing free sessions for participants.

A United States Navy Growler fighter jet taking part in Exercise Bamboo Eagle has crashed into San Diego Bay.
Early reports suggest the EA-18G from Electronic Attack Squadron VAQ-135, nicknamed the Black Ravens, was in flight when it developed a mechanical glitch.
Prior to the impact, both crew members made a split-second decision to eject, escaping the aircraft canopy just before the military jet smashed nose-first into the water and completely disappeared from view.

The HIMARS is a modern, light, and agile rocket launch platform that packs a punch and serves as a battlefield game-changer.
It has a range of up to 300 kilometres and carries six GMLRS rockets, two Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) or one ATACMS missile.
The US has previously sent the system to Ukraine, with it also being used by countries, such as Poland and Romania, along Nato's eastern flank.

Heavy metal was out in force for the International Tank Challenge in Germany.
Tank crews from the US, Denmark, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland gathered at the 7th Army Training Command's Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany for the International Tank Challenge.
The annual competition is designed to sharpen tactical skills and strengthen military partnerships. Crews will take on 10 events, testing their ability to operate, navigate and open fire under pressure.

The British Army's Stormer High-Velocity Missile (HVM) system is its only ground-based air defence platform, designed to take down aerial threats at speed.
Armed with eight ready-to-fire Starstreak missiles, the vehicle plays a key role in modern warfare, particularly against drones and aircraft.
"It can locate UAS, rotary wings, and fixed wings and it will lock on to the target where it will be able to engage the target effectively," says Lance Bombardier Andrew Kersey of 12 Regiment Royal Artillery.

Military personnel have been thanked for their service by the King and Queen during a special reception at Buckingham Palace.
Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Hitchins, Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment described the invitation as a "huge honour".
"I first met the King in 2006 before we deployed to Afghanistan and then when we returned," he explained.
"He did recognise me and said 'I think I've seen you before'.
