Hidden in the heart of Hong Kong's Central district lies an abandoned hospital with a dark, unsettling past. Once a thriving medical facility, it provided affordable private care for decades before closing its doors in 2012 after a bitter rent dispute.
Built in 1966 on land donated by the Anglican Church, this hospital was a lifeline for those who couldn’t afford expensive healthcare. At its peak, it even became known as the city's largest provider of abortions, with up to 6,000 terminations performed annually. But in 2009, a dispute over the tenancy led to the closure of the hospital, making way for an $800 million museum and gallery that still has yet to be built.
Now, the hospital sits in eerie silence, its once-bustling halls empty, and the remnants of its past scattered across the decaying rooms. This abandoned school is abandoned with no sign of fixing or any plans. It went abandoned because students were coming here less so they did not get the money They needed to keep this place going.
