What makes the Volkswagen Bus such an enduring icon, loved by adventurers, families, and nostalgia seekers alike? The answer lies in its ability to evolve while keeping its unmistakable charm intact. For over 70 years, this legendary vehicle has gone through multiple generations, adapting to modern needs without losing its identity.
The first Volkswagen Bus, known as the Type 2 T1, arrived in 1950 with its signature split windshield and rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Simple, practical, and full of personality, it became a symbol of freedom in the 1960s. By 1967, the second generation, the T2, introduced a curved windshield and an improved suspension system, making it more comfortable for long road trips.
The third generation, the T3, launched in 1979 and brought a more angular design. It was still rear-engined but had upgraded water-cooled engine options and even a four-wheel-drive Syncro variant for off-road enthusiasts. Then, in 1990, Volkswagen made a bold move with the T4, shifting to a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. This change improved interior space and transformed the bus into a more modern van.
With the T5 in 2003 and the T6 in 2015, Volkswagen continued refining the formula, adding more powerful engines, luxury trims, and high-tech driver assistance systems. The latest T7, released in 2021, completely reimagined the bus, moving to a car-like platform and introducing hybrid options.
Now, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz brings the legacy into the electric age. With its retro design and cutting-edge technology, it pays tribute to the original while embracing the future. That is what makes the Volkswagen Bus truly special—it is not just a vehicle, it is a timeless companion that evolves with every generation, keeping the spirit of adventure alive.

Discover the impressive safety performance of the Tesla Cybertruck as it secures a 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This video delves into the details of the frontal, side, and rollover crash tests, highlighting the Cybertruck's robust design and Tesla's commitment to safety excellence. Learn how this electric pickup truck stands out in both innovation and protection.
What happens when you take a futuristic, stainless steel electric pickup truck and put it through rigorous crash tests? Tesla’s highly anticipated Cybertruck has finally undergone official crash testing, and the results are in—showing impressive safety ratings across the board.
The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted the tests as part of its New Car Assessment Program. Multiple 2024 Tesla Cybertrucks were put through various crash scenarios, and despite the truck’s unconventional design, it proved to be one of the safest vehicles on the road.
One of the most crucial evaluations is the frontal crash test, which mimics a head-on collision at 35 miles per hour against a rigid barrier. The results? The driver received a 5-star rating, while the front passenger received a 4-star rating. Both front airbags deployed correctly, but the driver and passenger knee airbags did not. Tesla later clarified that this was intentional, as the knee airbags are not designed to deploy in this specific test scenario.
In side-impact testing, the Cybertruck continued to excel, receiving an overall rating of 5 stars. This category includes two key evaluations: the side barrier test, which simulates a vehicle being struck at an intersection, and the side pole test, which assesses the impact of crashing into a stationary object like a tree or utility pole. In both individual tests, the Cybertruck received a 5-star rating for both the front and rear seats.
The rollover resistance test is another important measure of vehicle safety, especially for larger vehicles like pickup trucks. This test assesses the likelihood of a single-vehicle rollover in a loss-of-control situation. The Cybertruck earned a 4-star rating in this category, with data indicating a 12.4% risk of rollover. Notably, the vehicle did not tip over during dynamic testing, which is a positive outcome for a truck of its size and weight.
These crash tests were performed by Applus+ Idiada Karco Engineering in Adelanto, California, in late 2023. The final reports were officially published on January 15.
Tesla has a long-standing history of producing safe vehicles, and the Cybertruck is no exception. Every Tesla model that has undergone testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received a 5-star overall safety rating, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to safety. With its bold design and strong performance in crash tests, the Cybertruck proves that futuristic innovation and real-world safety can go hand in hand.

What if your car could process information ten times faster than before, giving you a smoother, more responsive drive? That is exactly what BMW is testing with the Vision Driving Experience, a high-performance prototype designed to refine the technology that will power the next generation of BMW electric vehicles. While this specific model will not reach production, it provides a glimpse into what is coming with BMW’s Neue Klasse lineup.
Inside, the first thing that catches the eye is the massive Panoramic iDrive display. Stretching across the dashboard just below the windshield, it seamlessly blends into the minimalist interior, eliminating the need for a traditional instrument cluster. The driver still gets all essential information, but in a cleaner, more futuristic way. A uniquely shaped hexagonal center screen further enhances the experience by offering quick access to infotainment and vehicle controls.
The Vision Driving Experience is all about refinement and precision. At the heart of this prototype is the "Heart of Joy" control unit, which integrates braking, steering, charging, and power management into a single system. This unit processes information 10 times faster than previous BMW systems, optimizing everything from acceleration to regenerative braking. The result is a more natural and responsive driving experience, where the car anticipates and reacts to driver inputs with greater accuracy.
BMW is using this prototype to fine-tune its technology before rolling it out in production vehicles later this year. While the Vision Driving Experience itself will not hit showrooms, its innovations will shape the way BMW’s electric lineup feels on the road. This is more than just a test car—it is a preview of how BMW envisions the future of driving.
