Kanonen is a compact Intamin accelerator roller coaster that operated at Liseberg Amusement Park in Gothenburg Sweden from 2005 until 2016, when it was removed. It now operates at Lost Island Amusement Park in Iowa USA. Back in 2005 the European Coaster Club were invited to the Media Day ahead of public opening. This video features three POVs from the media day...a reverse 'rider cam' video with yours truly, a sideways facing POV of my wife Susan experiencing the punchy launch and the tight inversions and a backwards facing rear of train POV that shows the view behind the train. I hope you enjoy it.

Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris France is arguably one of the most famous buildings in the world. Dating back to around 1200 it has lived through over 800 years of history, wars, revolution and more. The tragic fire of April 15, 2019 destroyed much of the original roof structure, the unique spire and many treasures were lost. I visited Paris back in 2004 and was lucky to have been able to see the original cathedral and its roof, enjoying a tour of the bell chamber and rooftop and admiring the weird gargoyles up close. Video features the exterior of the cathedral, some interior footage plus highlights of the rooftop tour. I am so pleased I captured this footage as much of what you see in later part of the video was destroyed by the fire in April 2019. The cathedral reopened in December 2024 following an extensive refurbishment / rebuild programme, although I believe rooftop tours are not available.

Megafobia is a wooden roller coaster from Custom Coasters International that has operated at the Oakwood Theme Park in Wales since 1996. When new it was considered one of the best wooden coasters in Europe. The video includes various off-ride shots of 'Fobia in action, including exclusive private access footage from the field next to the coaster, an area that is normally out of bounds to the general public. Footage filmed during the European Coaster Club's 2006 trip to the park.

Marometas is a 'Big Air' roller coaster from SBF Visa that features two 'Hamster Wheel' cars plus some conventional spinning coaster cars. The Hamster Wheel cars do crazy somersaults when the train is moving around the track (the coaster name roughly translates as somersault). My good friend in Mexico, Jim Guy, volunteered to ride it and film his experience. The coaster is located at Aztlán Parque Urbano in Mexico City (previously known as La Feria Chapultepec Magico). This video features some crazy on-ride POV from the Hamster Wheel, along with a mix of spinning and off-ride footage, all filmed in February 2025. Huge thanks to Jim for sharing his footage with me.

My wife and I visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 2004 as part of a short break and enjoyed the walk from the Parvis Droits de l'Homme near the Place du Trocadero down past the fountains and across the bridge to the famous tower, where we admired the 1889 structure from close up and underneath, the latter offering some interesting views and unusual angles. Video contains highlights of this night-time visit with the Eiffel Tower sparkling in lights.

Air (now known as Galactica) is a B&M custom design flying roller coaster that first opened in 2002 at Alton Towers resort in Staffordshire, England. It was the prototype of this modern flying coaster model. In 2005 the European Coaster Club had it's annual club meeting at the park and as part of the day we had an exclusive opportunity to walk the lift-hill and wander around in the tunnel and underneath the track. In 2004 the European Coaster Club stayed at the brand new Hotel Colosseo as part of a visit to Europa Park in Germany. This 4-star Roman / Italian themed hotel features amazingly decorated rooms and suites and stunning theming. It was a real privilege to be one of the first visiting groups to the hotel. Video includes highlights of our hotel stay including footage of the bedroom, a behind-the-scenes guided tour by one of the park managers, daytime and night clips, two ECC members getting engaged and one of the Club members being thrown in the swimming pool! All good fun!

Rita is an Intamin accelerator roller coaster that has operated at Alton Towers Resort in England since 2005. A couple of months before it opened members of the European Coaster Club were given a construction site tour as part of its Annual Club Meeting which took place at the park. Video features highlights of this 'behind the scenes' site tour during the final construction stages of this fun launched roller coaster.
