To the outside observer, the Ioniq 5 N is a quiet EV whose owner is doing their part for the environment by using electricity to power the four-door hatchback. Meanwhile, inside, the driver is enjoying all of the features that come with a high-performance vehicle: “shifting” the gearbox at the redline, and enjoying the sounds of the “exhaust” burbling and popping on downshifts and upshifts. But none of this is actually happening because the Ioniq 5 N is fully electric: what it does have is one of the most impressive synthesized driving experiences of any electric vehicle, making it feel inside the cabin like you’re driving a rip-roaring gasoline-powered sports car without broadcasting any of that to the outside world.

Lexus has expanded its SUV line with the all-new TX, a three-row model that shares its dimensions and many mechanical bits with the new Toyota Grand Highlander, although the Lexus is more plush and luxurious. The Chevrolet Silverado RST EV may share a name with the conventional line of light—and heavy-duty pickups, but this all-electric truck has little else in common with its gas-powered siblings. Based on the same EV architecture as the GMC Hummer EV, Chevrolet gave this truck some impressive capabilities and features that would have been challenging (if not impossible) to achieve if it had based the design on the conventional body-on-frame Silverado.
