Just when you thought the Macan couldn't get any better, Porsche said, "Hold my hefeweizen," and re-did its popular performance SUV with an electric powertrain. The 2025 Macan EV pairs the brand's characteristic lithe handling with the immediate thrust of electric motors, and the result is a lively and entertaining package. It's practical too, with a rear-seat that's adult-friendly and a cargo area that'll haul plenty of cargo. While there is a base model with rear-wheel drive, the other Macan EVs come with two motors driving both axles. An air suspension is standard on all of them, and most models can be had with adaptive dampers and rear-wheel steering. The top-spec Turbo model makes up to 630 horsepower and is sure to provide the most thrills, but even lower-spec models will satisfy driving enthusiasts. Although it competes with the likes of the Audi SQ6 e-tron, the Cadillac Lyriq, and the Genesis Electrified GV70, the Porsche's sharper handling makes it a standout in this class of EVs, earning it a spot on our Editors' Choice list for 2025.
What's New for 2025?
A rear-wheel-drive base model joins the Macan EV lineup for 2025 with a single 355 horsepower electric motor which Porsche says can power the SUV to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. At the other end of the performance spectrum, the 4S trim also launches for 2025. This dual-motor model makes 442 horsepower and boasts a claimed 60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. The 4S can be optioned with the torque-vectoring system from the top-spec Turbo; all models come with an air suspension and adaptive dampers. Elsewhere, Slate Gray Neo is a newly available color, and Porsche has added a new 20-inch wheel design.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2025 Porsche Macan EV starts at $77.295 and goes up to $107.295 depending on the trim and options.

Infiniti has deployed an all-new generation of its big QX80 flagship SUV, complete with fresh styling inspired by the QX Monograph concept vehicle. The new QX80 wears an imposing shape, with an upright front end, large-mouth grille and big wheels. Exterior lighting elements add drama and include two slim daytime running lights with a distinctive block pattern up front and a full-width light bar across the liftgate connecting the taillights. Under the hood is a 450-hp twin-turbo V-6 in place of last year's naturally aspirated V-8. The deluxe cabin features three rows of seats with a massaging function available for both the first- and second-row chairs. The interior can also be optioned with a system that utilizes an infrared sensor in the headliner to detect when a rear-seat passenger is too warm; it then automatically directs cool air from the climate control system toward that rider. Also available is a 24-speaker stereo tuned by high-end audio maker Klipsch. The new QX80 looks posh and has the right features to compete with big SUV rivals but accompanying the Infiniti's upgrades is a stiffer MSRP that reduces its price advantage over models such as the Cadillac Escalade and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class.

The price of the 2025 Infiniti QX80 starts at $84.445 and goes up to $112.590 depending on the trim and options.

Anyone accustomed to S-class luxury but needing more space or ground clearance will feel right at home in the three-row GLS-class SUV. It offers a pair of engines—a 375-hp turbocharged inline-six in the GLS450 and a 510-hp twin-turbo V-8 in the GLS580—that provide smooth-as-silk propulsion and swift acceleration. A standard air suspension keeps it on an even keel, providing great body control and contributing to crisp handling, attributes that aren't a given for a vehicle of this size. Speaking of footprint, there's plenty of room inside the SUV's modern cabin, with seating for either six or seven and sufficient cargo space. The speed-obsessed may want to check out the 603-hp GLS63 while oligarchs in training will gravitate toward the Maybach GLS600. Competition includes the equally athletic BMW X7, as well as the ubiquitous Land Rover Range Rover and the all-American Lincoln Navigator.
What's New for 2025?
All GLS SUVs now come with a fingerprint scanner, which can be used to pull up a driver's personalized profile. There are new Manufaktur Signature styling options: four more paint colors and a trio of special nappa leather color schemes. The latter is also available as part of the Manufaktur Signature Interior package, which adds a stitched leather dash, several Manufaktur logos, headrest pillows, and deep-pile carpets.

The quiet nature of electric vehicles makes perfect sense for ultra-luxury cars like the 2025 Rolls-Royce Spectre. Not only does the silent powertrain contribute to a sense of solitude, but the two motors’ 577 horsepower provides the same effortless pull as the Spectre’s siblings’—the Cullinan, Ghost, and Phantom—internal-combustion V-12 engine does. Accessed by opening one of two rear-hinged doors, the coupe’s cabin is lavish and beyond comfortable. Fine materials line every square inch of the interior, and Rolls-Royce smartly integrates modern technology without ruining the cabin’s classic vibes. Driving range comes in as high as an estimated 291 miles on a full charge; however, ordering the larger 23-inch wheels drops that estimate to just 266 miles. That’s less than rivals such as the BMW i7 and the Lucid Air Grand Touring. Those two luxury sedans also don’t cost as much as the Spectre, though neither has the grandeur and gravitas of a Rolls-Royce.
What's New for 2025?
Expect Rolls-Royce to carry over the Spectre unchanged for 2025.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2025 Rolls-Royce Spectre starts at $422.750.
Spectre: $422,750
Rolls-Royce will let you customize a Spectre pretty much any way you want. And that's a good thing, because, with a price tag this high, we expect buyers will want something truly personalized.
EV Motor, Power, and Performance
All Spectres will come with a dual-motor electric powertrain with 577 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. After taking the Spectre on a test drive, we can assure you this is more than enough power to move the big coupe with authority. Although sharp impacts still make themselves known, Rolls-Royce has installed adaptive suspension to ensure an appropriately isolated ride over all but the biggest bumps, and the engineers also made room for a massive amount of sound-deadening material to maintain a whisper-quiet cabin. And oh how quiet it is. On the road, the Spectre is so silent inside that your ears pick up almost no sounds until you get up to 80 mph and the wind starts to only slightly penetrate into the tomb-like cabin. At our test track, we recorded a very quiet 63-dB reading on our sound meter at a 70 mph cruise.

Money can't buy more time on earth, but it will buy a $3,825,000 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. And while 1578 horsepower won't extend your expiration date, accelerating hard in a Super Sport crams a hell of a lot of living into a short amount of time. You see, the Super Sport's four new turbochargers compress not only air, but also time. Take, for example, the amount the Chiron Super Sport takes to get to 200 mph. Those 14.8 seconds squeeze in a month's worth of terror, joy, and comedy.
Your life does flash in front of you the first time you floor the Chiron's accelerator and unleash the W-16's gas-fired hell on the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Launch control brings the engine to about 2500 rpm, allowing the Super Sport to build some boost before takeoff. If 2500 rpm seems low, consider that the 8.0-liter reactor behind your head makes 562 horsepower at that speed and is already producing peak torque of 1180 pound-feet. Let go of the Chiron's leash, and your spine gets hit with 1.5 g's of leather backrest while a disorienting fuzziness engulfs you. Traction is critical to acceleration, but even an all-wheel-drive system with massive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (which are X-rayed at the factory to ensure they're up to near-300-mph speeds) can't contain the Chiron's power. All four tires break loose and tag the pavement.
Even after it hooks up, the Bugatti doesn't let up much. At 60 mph, you're still accelerating harder than gravity. Between 160 and 170 mph, the car accelerates with about 0.4 g of force. Hold the accelerator to the floor for 9.1 seconds and you'll see 161 mph, a new C/D test record. The half-mile mark passes a mere 5.0 seconds later at 197 mph. At 18.5 seconds, the three-quarter mark goes by at 217 mph. With the wind at its back (we average runs in two directions), the Super Sport hit 222 mph in less than 0.8 mile. Running out of room on the proving ground's roughly 1.2-mile straight quickly becomes a concern, despite the strength of the giant carbon-ceramic brakes. What kind of speeds could we find with a bit more space?
