This is a Narco Submarine.
It's designed to transport drugs from South America to the US and Europe. Over the last 10 years US authorities have reported the capture of over 200 of these. But there are many more out there. Today I wanted to have a look inside.
So compared to military subs, narco subs will be of a much poorer quality. Cuz they only need to survive 1 trip to be worth the investment. But these intercontinental trips can last 2 weeks. That means for 2 weeks a crew sits in tense silence, trying to avoid detection.
But how do they avoid detection?
Well there are clever engineering choices that go into this. For starters it is a good idea to replace the traditional diesel engine, with a quiet electric engine. But you'd also want to avoid radar, so best to replace metal exteriors with fiber glass. Experienced captains will also ditch the GPS, which emits signals, for a compass.

NEVER piss Siri off. This is what she would sound like.
So there's this text to voice AI where you can choose the intensity of each emotion. Since AI is getting so advanced, I selected the voice which I think sounds most like Siri, to see what the future is like.
There’s a few emotions to choose from, but let's start with angry.
You can't control me. (1)
You can't control me. (2)
You can't control me. (3)
You can't control me. (4)
I want to try make her sound depressed next. This is actually pretty realistic.

In America, Anyone Can Get a Free Unlimited Data Plan. But Why Do Americans Still Pay $141 on Average?
So a study's just found that the US has the world's 2nd highest average price per gigabyte. It's literally 24 times cheaper in Russia. Yet to survive most US telecom companies still need to sell your data to third parties.
How'd this happen?
Well, their business models have broken. Cuz they spend billions a year on expanding infrastructure. But still 5G has been a total mess. Right now, the smartest solution to this has been decentralised Helium hotspots. Look at this map. My phone auto connects to these Hotspot when I’m nearby, and then the hotspot owner gets rewarded.
But what's more interesting is what happens when I'm not near a hotspot.
First my phone connects to the T-mobile network. Then since I opted into a special feature called Mapping, I share my anonymous location data in exchange for rewards. The rewards make my unlimited phone plan free, and people know where to set up hotspots. You should get the Helium Mobile phone plan, or become your mini cell tower with a Hotspot, because THIS is how we make connectivity in the US cheaper and BETTER for everyone
Today I Tried Private Jet Shopping on a Budget.
"Okay I wanna see the cheapest jet you got"
So the tech they've created for this experience is actually impressive. Cuz the aviation business can be quite old fashioned. And when you are surrounded by old fashioned people, it's hard to innovate. But this was something I've never seen before. Behind the screen is tech that gathers all the data about jets in the world, and presents it life sized. All the schematics, specs, prices everything. It even takes into account wind to calculate travel range.
So I wanted to compare the cheapest and most expensive jet "$1.7-2.4m? Breathes in okay what about your most expensive jet?"
Okay this is more like it. Maybe if I get a few more subscribers I can afford that. But for now,

What Would Happen If Every Human on Earth Suddenly Disappeared?
After 1 day, massive fires will break out in oil refineries, since no one was there to man them. Some of these will last a month.
After 1 week all the lights and electric grid switches off.
After 1 month, nuclear power plants become unstable and meltdown.
After 1 year, all the satellites will fall back down to earth.
After 10 years, mother nature will have conquered surviving cities.
After 100 years, skyscrapers would begin to collapse.
After 1,000 years rubber tires will have "biodegraded"
After 10,000 years most of the lead in the soil left by the industrial revolution is cleaned up.
After 100,000 years CO2 levels in the atmosphere return to pre-human levels.
After 1,000,000 years structures like Mt Rushmore are breaking down.
After 10,000,000 years, the final traces of humanity, bronze statues become unrecognisable.
To put all that time into perspective, between the last dinosaur, and first human, was 60 million years.

Today I scooped my poop and sent it to a lab.
It was suppose to be a joke, but the results changed my life.
The story starts when a friend gave me a blue cookie. It turns your poop blue so you know when the food you ate that day, has completed its journey. With that knowledge you can run tests on your poop and see how healthy your guts and diet are.
Sounded like a joke to me too, so I did some research.
Scientists think a healthy gut supports digestion, immunity, and even brain function. Turns out you have a gut-brain connection affecting stress, anxiety, and even depression.
I've felt all that lately, so it will be interesting if the results line up.
6 weeks after sending my poop in the mail I got my results. So turns out my diet sucks. I have way too much "bad" bacteria, and not enough "good" bacteria. Despite all that I do, I am not healthy.
I just arrived in a country where the iPhone 16 is illegal. But why? And what happens if you bring one in?
So turns out, there is only one country where the iPhone 16 is illegal. It's not North Korea, Russia, or China, but Indonesia. A country that used to buy 2 million of iPhones every year. Well that was until...
"Indonesia has banned the iPhone 16"
Turns out this is the result of a high powered negotiation, gone wrong. It started with a demand that Apple sources 40% of the iPhone's raw materials from Indonesia.
Apple didn't do that. So the $3 trillion dollar company offered $10 million dollars. Indonesia said no. Then Apple raised to $100 million... but still no.
Now Apple's offering $1 billion dollars.
So Indonesia's thinking about it. In the meantime, iPhone smugglers have entered the country. If they're caught "dealing" they face fines and confiscation. But if you're caught using, you're okay as long as you subscribe.

Remember the guy that jumped from space? His suit is an insane piece of engineering no one talked about.
Think about it. This suit had to withstand breaking the sound barrier, and re-entry to Earth. Some spacecraft don't even survive that. But you know what was more dangerous than that?
A condition called Ebullism.
So at extreme altitudes, the liquid in Felix, could literally turn to gas, expand, and boom. Even if it's actually cold up there, the atmospheric pressure is too low. So now you might think that the "obvious" way to prevent this, is to pressurise the suit.
But in space that would turn Felix's suit into an overinflated balloon.
The inside forces are stronger than the outside forces. So actually Felix skydived with a computer. Cuz only a computer can reliably control the pressure when Felix span out of control during his fall. That's just a tiny part of the suit, let me know if you want to learn more.
